Maison de Funk are delighted to do our first drop with Thelonious Coltrane, an acclaimed Georgian and German producer based in Tbilisi - Zhiguli Night Ride.

Known for his massively successful lofi catalogue, as well as his hugely popular remix series for some of the best emcees in the new wave (see Pro Dillinger's "Lord of Dirt" and Mickey Diamond's "Diamond in the Rough"), here we present his own hand-picked selection of some of the best instrumentals from that series.

Thelonious' trademark smoked-out psychedelic jazz style is in full effect here, as he creates a brilliant concept album which takes listeners on a midnight drive through Tbilisi sometime in 1996. The album's artwork (also by Thelonious himself) meshes perfectly with the music to perfectly evoke post-Soviet angst via the medium of hip-hop.
